SWCCG Pauper Event at GenCon 2023
Star Wars CCG Original Trilogy Pauper Constructed
Deck Construction Rules
- Bring two decks - 1 light side, 1 dark side
- Each deck must contain exactly 60 cards
-
Only Common and Uncommon cards from the first 9 full sets are allowed
-
To be clear, the first 9 full sets are:
- Premiere
- A New Hope
- Hoth
- Dagobah
- Cloud City
- Jabba's Palace
- Special Edition
- Endor
- Death Star 2
-
To be clear, the first 9 full sets are:
-
No "Insert" cards are allowed
- Any card that "inserts" into a deck or pile (example: A Disturbance In The Force from Premiere) is not allowed.
-
No 'virtual' cards are allowed
- We will use current 'Errata' text for the original Decipher cards
- The swccg players committee site (starwarsccg.org) has a pdf document with all of the current Eratta text in it by card title.
- This can be daunting to consume - so I would point out that the swccgdb site (that I link to below to find easy reference to all of the allowed cards) has an "E" on the bottom-right border of any card with a current Errata update. Their text-box on the left contains the current Errata, so I find it easiest to use this site to double check the wording on cards.
Deck Construction Exclusions Explained / Clarified
- No Rare (or Ultra-Rare) cards allowed
-
No "Premium" cards allowed
- The "Luke" and "Vader" from the Premiere Two-Player Game are Premium even though they don't have the icon - so they are not allowed
-
No "Fixed" cards allowed
- The Special Edition Starter Decks contained a bunch of "Fixed" cards that could only be found there. These are not allowed. These have "F" as their rarity on the swccgdb site.
- Ex: Wookie is "Fixed" and not allowed
Ideas for preparing your deck
- Feel free to use opaque sleeves if you want
-
You can use printed Errata slips if:
- They are printed on *thin* paper
- You use opaque sleeves
- the slips are cut small enough that they don't stick out or show through the sleeves in any way
Help Finding the Legal Cards
Here are links to the swccgdb site with url parameters already in place to filter down to the allowed cards. (** there still may be 'insert' cards in these results, they are still not allowed, I just don't know how to filter them out).
